Why would one "hear" and not do the sayings of the truth?

It is called laziness. It goes in one ear and out the other. They think if they pretend it is not there, they do not have to do it. Like God gave Moses' 613 Commandments that continue in the same chapter as the first ten are, then the following chapters. Yet how many people admit to there being more than the first ten? Jesus tell us in Matt 5:17-18 to remember them all.
