Christians: I have a question for you?

God originally made this world perfect, with no evil or anything. but then man sinned. if you are talking about evil in the form of man, that happens because man still has FREE WILL to decide whether or not to do evil, and in the end they will be judged accordingly. if you are talking about evil in the form of natural disasters, then God does that sometimes to punish the evil people there (ie Sodom and Gomorrah) or just to remind us that He is God and He can do this. He also does it sometimes as a warning to the people there that further destruction will come if they do not turn from their ways (ie the people of Nineveh)
