Unique names/spellings or not?

If there's meaning behind it do it, if not no. I have a name traditionally spelled with a "C" but mine is spelled with a "K", it's Monika. I ALWAYS have to spell it, but, at least if I have some story for the reason it is the way it is IE it's because of my European heritage, then it makes me proud. I would not want to say that my parents just came up with it on a whim, because that sounds low class.
